Hecker Guthrie is a multidisciplinary design firm based in Melbourne, founded by Paul Hecker and Hamish Guthrie. With more than 10 years of design practice, we aim to create a unique temperament and personal charm for each project. The firm's approach to design is driven by the principles of authenticity, creativity and passion. This authenticity resonates not only in the design solutions, but also in the choice of materials and the collaboration with the artisans.
Brighton Residence 布莱顿住宅 ━
布莱顿住宅始建于19世纪，至今仍保留着一种过去的宏伟历史感。经过Hecker Guthrie的翻修，被打造成了一个具有丰富空间层次的家庭住宅，通过与户外的联通和嵌入式的开放性来表达空间的物质性关系，其设计的灵感主要来自意大利南部的乡村。
Originally built in the 19th century, Brighton House still retains a sense of the grand history of the past. Renovated by Hecker Guthrie, the result is a family home with a rich spatial hierarchy that expresses the physical relationship of the space through its connection to the outdoors and its embedded openness. The design is mainly inspired by the southern Italian countryside.
新的建筑通过分区来整合原本的疏离感，从而实现建筑多种功能性的可能。住宅内部有着安静、精致的起居空间，另外配置了独立的书房，但业主对娱乐的热爱也促使了一个更加开放的空间形式的形成，于此可以灵活地举办朋友聚会，并与花园、游泳池和户外厨房空间保持紧密联系。
The new building integrates the original sense of alienation through zoning, thus realizing the possibility of multiple functions of the building. Inside the house is a quiet, sophisticated living space, with a separate study, but the owner's love of entertaining also led to a more open form of space that allows flexibility to host gatherings with friends and maintains a close connection to the garden, pool and outdoor kitchen space.
Hyatt Centric Hotel 凯悦中心酒店 ━ 墨尔本作为全球远行者的理想之地，其地理环境和自然景观有着独特和难以定义的形象特征。基于此，凯悦中心酒店的设计出发点，源于Hecker Guthrie通过赞美墨尔本作为最佳目的地城市而进行的构思，因此，其内部的一系列空间充满了强烈的墨尔本当地的特色风貌。
As an ideal place for global travelers, Melbourne has unique and difficult to define image characteristics of its geographical environment and natural landscape. Based on this, the Hyatt Regency Center was designed from Hecker Guthrie's concept of celebrating Melbourne as the best destination city. As a result, a series of Spaces within the center are imbued with a strong sense of Melbourne's local character.
从参考墨尔本城市文化之中的网格布局形式、棋盘式瓷砖和维多利亚时代的砖墙来设计酒店的房间，同时也是对手工建造的一种低调回应。内部的艺术作品同样借鉴了城市的过去，并将其转换为现代的标志，陈设的位置很好的回应了当地和当下生活方式的空间叙事形式。
The hotel's rooms are designed with reference to Melbourne's urban culture of grid layouts, checkerboard tiles and Victorian brick walls, as well as being an understated response to handmade construction. The artwork inside also draws on the city's past and transforms it into a modern symbol, and the placement of the furnishings responds well to the spatial narrative form of the local and current lifestyle.
