绘画是个从零到一的过程，一切都从一块儿白布上开始。建造也有着类似的过程，尽管有时候并不是从零开始，往往要先做减法再做加法，设计师需要进退有据。为画家建造，日常与创作就是最重要的主题。两种生活需要平行也需要交叠。
Painting is a process from zero to one, everything starts with a piece of white cloth. Construction also has a similar process, although sometimes it is not from scratch, it is often necessary to do subtraction and then addition, and designers need to advance and retreat. Building for painters, daily life and creation are the most important themes. The two lives need to be parallel and overlapping.

场地形态为东西向伸展的长方形，南侧为长度40m的连续玻璃窗，一整个面向容桂水道和江心洲。室内空间由对称的两面端柱剪力墙将空间三分，左右两侧的空间中心布置着截面长宽1.5m的立柱。并置烟道的右侧更为粗重，其长细比接近方体，视觉上就让人体会到其承受荷载的沉重。结构带来的不稳定感是设计中需要消化整理的核心问题，同时也是解构空间匀质化的机会。
The shape of the site is a rectangle extending from east to west, and the south side is a continuous glass window with a length of 40m, which faces the Ronggui waterway . The interior space is divided into three parts by symmetrical two-sided end-column shear walls, and the center of the space on the left and right sides is arranged with columns with a cross-section of 1.5m in length and width. The right side of the juxtaposed flue is thicker and heavier, and its slenderness ratio is close to a cube, which visually makes people feel the heavy load it bears. The instability brought by the structure is the core problem that needs to be digested and sorted out in the design, and it is also an opportunity to deconstruct the space to homogenize.

功能自左向右布置为工作室、客厅、餐厅和卧房，空间属性由中心向两侧发展趋于私密。
The functions are arranged from left to right as studio, living room, dining room and bedroom, and the spatial attributes develop from the center to the two sides and tend to be private.

剪力墙与立柱在展示柜的设置下被完形成方体。它们的摆放形成开放性的围合，划定功能的同时保持了空间的连续和流动，空间动线将是类似在美术馆中观展的体验。机电设备的布置考虑了天花高度差与空间边缘的对应，加强每个方形空间的边界感受。阳台与过廊两条轴线压低了高度，将视线引向纵深与水平。
The shear wall and the column are completed into a cube under the setting of the display cabinet. Their placement forms an open enclosure, demarcating functions while maintaining the continuity and flow of the space, and the spatial circulation will be similar to the experience of viewing an exhibition in an art gallery. The arrangement of electric equipment takes into account the correspondence between the height difference of the ceiling and the edge of the space, enhancing the boundary feeling of each square space. The two axes of the balcony and the corridor reduce the height and lead the line of sight to the depth and level.

在软装与涂料的选择上，我们剥夺了它们成为视觉焦点的权利，尽可能将其弱化为空间中的日常品，使其可以与空间中的结构相配合，不断交叠构成起几何局部，激励到访者能保持游走中的动态观察。因此涂料与柜体选择偏向纯色，材料选择控制在三种以内，避免空间构成的纯粹被过量的信息消弱。
In the selection of soft furnishings and paints, we deprived them of their right to become the visual focus, and weakened them as much as possible into objects in the space, so that they can be matched with the structures in the space and continuously overlap to form geometric parts. Motivating visitors to maintain dynamic observation on the move. Therefore, the selection of paint and cabinets is based towards pure colors, and the selection of materials is controlled within three kinds, so as to avoid the pureness of space composition being weakened by excessive information.

我们向业主的艺术家人格让渡了一定程度的空间主导权，克制了设计者的表达欲望。艺术家会在平日生活中再次定义他的私属地，空间将持续地生长与发展。随着艺术家画作与造物的创作，居所和画室渐渐蜕变为画廊。
We surrendered a certain degree of space dominance to the owner’s artist personality, restraining the designer’s desire to express. The artist will redefine his private place in his daily life, and the space will continue to grow and develop. With the creation of the artist’s paintings and creations, the residence and studio gradually transformed into the House Museum.
