to popularise Sichuan cuisine,
the century-old restaurant has branched
out of Sichuan as itushers
in the next 100 years.
于2015年设计了马旺子成都店以后
取得了巨大的商业成功和好评
也因如此,马旺子深圳店的空间设计
将面临著更大的挑战
The design of Ma’s Kitchen
in Chengdu, Sichuan Province,
in 2015 enjoyed phenomenal business
success and positive reviews,which
naturally places enormous pressure
on the design of Ma’s Kitchen
in Shenzhen.
我们与马旺子的深度合作
与深入的碰撞,确定了深圳湾万象城店
的一些重要思考。在空间设计部分,突破
原有格局,重视川菜文化传递
讲究地方特点的当代性
Following our intensive collaboration
and having bounced off ideas
with one another, we confirmed
some key concepts for the branch
at MixC Shenzhen Bay. In terms of
spatial design, we broke free
of theexisting layout and emphasised
the conveyance of the culture
of Sichuan cuisine, particularly
the contemporariness of the
local characteristics.
川人的豁达与开放,包容与务实
造就了川西建筑的多元化格局
而在商场室内去体现在地文化
也已较普遍,外放与内收的体验感受
如何表达,等等,这些
均是我们要去思考和选择的方向
The candidness, openness,
tolerance and practicality of the people
of Sichuan have given birth to the
diverse architectural styles in western Sichuan,
and the embodiment of local cultures
inside shopping centres
has also become more popular.
The expression of an open appearance
with intricate details was something
we had to consider.
我们打破商铺门面的呆板形态,将一种独立的
建筑体塞入进去。营造室内和建筑体的视觉对比与冲突
巨大的斜坡体态成为主要的内外区分元素
同时,让临边而坐的方式
被斜坡和靠栏包裹,既有通透又有区隔
这也是一种东方审美里
热衷去体现的情趣之一
We rejected the usual dull
look of restaurant frontsand replaced it
with an independent structure, which
contrasts and clashes with the interior,
while the giant slope becomes
the key element that divides the internal
and external spaces.
Moreover, the slope and railings embracing
the diners afford a sense of both spaciousness
and privacy, which is a playful technique
that is keenly employed in the
Eastern aesthetics.
夯土墙与细竹条组成的肌理特性
将室内的氛围突出的更具松弛与洒脱
灯光的设计方式也更像是万家灯火时
的记忆呈现。我们用土砖打磨出二十四个味型
的书法小楷,并在表面烧制成陶瓷釉彩,
与川菜里精致与粗砺的特性共舞
Theunique texture created
by rammed-earth walls and
slender bamboo battens foregrounds
the relaxing and natural atmosphere,
while the lighting is reminiscent of
twinkling lights emitted from homes.
We used clay bricks to display
the 24 flavours of Sichuan cuisine
in small regular script of calligraphy
before glaze firing them,so they reflect
the exquisiteness and boldness
of Sichuan cuisine.
由两个巨大如竹篮的老虎灶茶台
是客人们感受川西风情韵味的一处亮点,
是马旺子餐厅空间设计的一种
基因传承,也更是优游闲岁月、潇洒度时光
的川人生活态度
The two tigerstoves for
serving tea that are the size of giant
bamboo baskets are yet another touch of the customs
and charm of western Sichuan.
In addition to being cultural heritage,
they reflect the leisurely and carefree life
attitude of the people of Sichuan.
