Born in Japan, and well-traveled throughout the Far East and the western world, Sara has also lived in California, Texas, and New York. Sara earned a B.F.A. from the University of San Diego (who awarded her a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011), and a degree in Interior Architecture from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

In 2012, Sara launched her first product line, Sara Story Design Wallpaper, which was inspired by her travels and love of Asian design. Transforms traditional Asian motifs for a contemporary audience with both classic and edgier tastes.Sara is currently completing her second line of wallpaper and first fabric collection, which will be available through Holland & Sherry.
