本案把客厅与餐厅的空间进行了置换，再将原本的餐厅与茶室进行功能重叠。在这样的空间中，一方面拥抱外在的自然，一方面又脱离日常的、社会的自我，沉潜与寂然不动、万古不易的自然本质中。

由于沉重墙体的约束，空间之间无法完全打开。于是，通过断裂的美感，以此来营造一种特殊的审美形式。混凝土的质感与木材质相撞，使空间有了一种高层次的“游戏”精神，游曳于“软硬”和“虚实”之间。
