改造的房子实际上在一个双向斜坡的场地上,属于坡地住宅,建筑北立面在道路一侧,入口位于北向一楼 ,南向是内庭院,院子最南侧就是山坡高低差断面的挡土墙,内部空间由于南北两侧的采光面都很小,在白天的光线下都比较昏暗,从庭院到室内光线的明暗对比特别强烈,距离上一次装修的时间比较久,整个房子呈现比较老旧的状态,特别是建筑内庭院立面杂乱。

建筑立面梳理和内部空间的重新规划,针对房子存在问题的修复和翻新,这些是该项目改造设计的主要组成部分,怎样解决空间内部采光问题,在白天不开灯也能满足日常使用。直接的印象就是让光线进来多一些吧。


Therefore, we focused chiefly on re-alignment of the building facades and interior space replanning, solving existing problems (restoration or renovation), and the internal lighting improvements. All in all, let in more natural light when you don’t turn on the lights during the daytime.

1.外立面语言组织与处理方式
Elevational Architectural Language and Elevational Treatment


北向沿路立面剔除了原来的符号语言(装饰屋檐),最大程度减少光线的遮挡。窗户部分只做比例梳理与外窗台的处理,让窗户成为立面主要语言,扩大楼梯位置的采光窗洞,其实在设计初期这是不确定的因素,很有可能由于原始结构限制而达不到预设大小,需要现场勘查才能确认,设计的偶然性条件是设计过程的魅力所在,当偶然性实现的时候内心会非常激动。后期考虑经营切换模式增设了可开启和关闭的电动卷帘门,在开启卷帘的时候形成一个内凹的体块,既可以增加采光也可以消除立面的扁平化。采光窗洞上面设计了可以隐藏电机的屋檐,下雨的时候通过倾向屋檐可以把大部分雨水自然落到平台外边。


The original symbolic language of architecture (decorative eaves) on the North side was removed to make the most use of sunlight. To make window as the main language of building elevations, the only change we did were the proportions of them and their external sill. Meanwhile, the lighting window in the stair was enlarged, which in fact was an uncertainty at the beginning of this design, as it may fail to realize the preferred size owing to the original structural limitations, in this case, site investigation was needed. However, you may be excited and feel an overwhelming sense once the sudden inspiration in your mind and changes caused of such uncertainties are realized on site, which is the charm of designing. Taking account of the business model later in actual situation, an electric rolling shutter door was mounted. Opening the door will form a caved-in block which increases lighting and eliminates the flattening of the facade. Above the lighting window, eaves were set for housing the motor, which can drain most of rainwater well out of the platform when it rains.

对原有入户门洞口做了扩大处理的同时取消内退入口平台的设置,为强化主入口在立面上的视觉效果,用折叠的形式做了不锈钢的门与外挂的挡水挑檐,由于过道看建筑都在侧边,为了能快速被辨认找到,在建筑侧墙增加发光侧招。在坡道视觉高度的窗户定制钢化防爆磨砂玻璃,既能提供室内通风,又保证了内部使用空间的隐私及安全。


The original entrance door opening was enlarged, and in the meantime the inwards platform here was removed. To reinforce the visual effect of the main entrance on this facade, a door of stainless steel and plugin water retaining cornices were made in a folding form. The window at visual height from the ramp was tailored with tempered explosion-proof frosted glass, ensuring not only good indoor air ventilation but also the privacy and security of inner space.

2.平面布局
Plane Layout


单层面积小,客房需求多、造价限制的前提下,小体量空间尽可能排除单调复制营造多样变化,需要对各部分尺度关系与使用者进行沟通和梳理。


Under the physical truth of large demand for guest rooms within confined area at single storey and limited cost, the best way is to construct the building with a variety of changes, instead of monotonously repeating in small space. This is necessary to communicate with users about the scale relations of each part.

建筑的一层主要集成整个项目的公共活动区,住宿后勤部分和工作室区域。活动公区承载着住宿的餐区和接待,同时也兼顾工作室日常活动,为了适应多场景可置换的开放公共区域,公区除了吧台区块是固态的,其他都是活动布置空间,连接户外的移门可以实现最大程度打开。一楼前期设置了一间活动的双床房,实际可以根据一楼的功能拓展预留的独立空间。


The first floor of the building is mainly divided as public event area of the whole project and area of accommodation and logistics. The public event area functions as the dining and reception place, and holds daily activities of the studio. In this area, the whole space, except for the bar counter, can be used flexibly in accordance with specific needs. A sliding door connected to the outdoors can be opened to the maximum extent. The first floor of the building that previously used as a movable twin room, can be expanded into separate space for reservations according to actual requirement.

建筑整体平面布局以下沉式露天庭院为中心,庭院占据了整个场地三分之一面积,庭院周边区域划分布置有厨房、茶室、工作室,公卫等相对独立功能空间。整体建筑沿路朝北向,建筑朝南的庭院更像一个能量收集器。位于围合空间中心是庭院下沉区域,与室内地坪高度通过环绕的坡道连接,多人的活动场景就可以把坡道的高差面作为座面来使用。


The overall layout of the building is centered on a sunken open-air courtyard which occupies one third of the entire site. At the surrounding area of the courtyard, there are several relatively independent functional spaces, such as a kitchen, a tearoom, a studio and a public washroom. The whole architecture faces North along the road. Seen from fa away, the courtyard facing south looks like an energy collector. In the center of the enclosed space is the sunken area of the courtyard, which connected to the Indoor floor. Thus, the elevation difference of the ramp can be used as seat surfaces when many people are active at the same time.

借助材质分割对比来做体块的拆分,方案强调南向的围合边界是一个非扁平化的立面,原有两侧辅助用房是黑色瓦片斜屋顶,没有使用功能且阻碍内部空间和庭院的联系,经过模型与现场勘测决定将原屋顶拆除,重新现浇楼面让二楼有更多户外空间,工作室楼面成为庭院的一部分,厨房顶面划为二层房间独立使用的露台。一层下沉庭院、坡道、二楼屋面两侧露台,三层外挑露台呈现多高差视角平台。如果说建筑是一座桥梁,建筑的不同高度的户外平台就像桥梁的台阶,与周边的人与景观产生感受关联。

Small blocks and volumes were distinct from each other by dividing various materials. And this proposal emphasizes that the Southern enclosing boundary is a non-flat facade. Original annex on both sides of the architecture were built with black tiles with pitched roofs, neither playing no role of usable function, nor cutting off the connections between inner space and the yard. After modeling and site investigation, the pitched roofs were decided to detach and a new floor by way of cast-in-place was forged at the second floor for more outside space. In this case, the studio surface was in tune with yard, becoming a part of it. In addition, top surface of the kitchen played a part as the terrace outside second floor rooms. The sunken courtyard, ramps, terraces on both sides of the second floor, and projecting terraces on the third floor together presented a visual effect of multiple height differences. Outdoor terraces at different heights of the architecture, like steps of a bridge, connecting with people emotionally and landscapes around it, provided that the architecture is the bridge.

二层和三层都是客房,基本拆分为南北朝向,北向房间以标准间为主,南向的客房配有不同形式的户外露台,希望每个房间都有一个观察这个城市的视角。


Guest rooms occupy almost all spaces on the second and third floors. South-facing rooms have different forms of outdoor terraces while standard rooms are placed in the opposite direction. The idea is that every guest in each room would have a good view of the city.

3.细节,灯光,材质
Details, lights and raw materials


建筑南立面作为围合庭院的一个边界存在,拆除原建筑存在安全隐患的钢架玻璃顶棚和不能融合的铁艺栏杆,二楼和三楼的立面更多倾向透明或者半透明的材质使用,以及线条感的金属扶手,减弱视觉的重量感,获得一种轻盈的立面感受。同时,三楼露台形状做了特殊处理,破坏平行界面,灰色金属扶手更像是一个旅行的记忆标注,这种做法是我们设计的一种惯用语言。


As a boundary enclosing the courtyard, the Southern facade of the architecture has been changed a lot. The glass ceiling with steel frames were removed because of potential safety hazard, so did the iron railings due to stylistic collision. On the second and third floors of the building, we chose transparent or translucent facade materials much more than before, as well as smooth-lined metal handrails, to generate a feeling of transparency and lightness of facades and visually weaken weight sense. At the same time, the shape of the terrace on the third floor has been specially treated, that is, the original parallel interfaces have been thoroughly changed. Gary metal is more like a memento of travel, which is a common language of design. Small blocks and volumes were distinct from each other by dividing various materials.

庭院的环绕坡道用低技的方式制作,现场采购材料 配置骨料 由现场泥工现浇成型,后期做了修边打磨处理,最后在防护剂处理表面。


Ramps around the courtyard was constructed in a low-tech way. All raw materials were purchased at site prior to being batched in to aggregate base by masons with cast-in-situ molding at a certain ratio. In the mid to late, the ramp was trimmed and polished, and finally the surface was treated with protective agent.
