HFZ Capital Group, a prominent New York real estate developer, paid a high price for The entire site between 10th avenue and 11th avenue in Manhattan and invited Bjarke Ingels, an architect from Copenhagen, to design The XI, a building on The Hudson River in Manhattan.
The XI占地3300平方米，包含了东塔和西塔两座建筑，Bjarke Ingels Group使塔楼旋转，最大程度地欣赏两个塔的视野，打破传统摩天大楼呆板的设计，创造了与众不同的视觉效果，同时也大大增加了结构设计的难度。两栋建筑之间的空间作为一个入口通道和种植植物的庭院，由瑞士景观设计师Enzo Enea设计。
Covering an area of 3,300 square meters, The XI consists of two buildings, The east tower and The west tower. Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) designed the twisting towers to rotate to maximize views from both towers. The space between the two buildings, designed by Swiss landscape architect Enzo Enea, ACTS as an entrance and a courtyard for planting plants.

The XI also contains an art marketing center, called The "Gallery", designed by Es Devlin, an internationally renowned stage designer. The organic lines of the work are associated with BIG's naturally twisted design, as if the building is growing like a stem or vine that has been twisted from its foundation.
